A Thought Improved

Starting late in the morning. Done with everything including breakfast and was waiting for my friend to go to college. Heard the bike’s, Yamaha RXZ, exhaust sound and came out of the house and cursed him, why are you late Mr. Turtle (nickname)?”, and just got a smile in response. We left to college in rocket speed. On our way, we saw a beautiful girl waving her hand towards me! Hey buddy! just turn the bike and follow the bus for the God’s sake”, I insisted. We followed the bus until the girl’s destination and blocked her way once she got down from bus. I moved near her and asked “Hey! why did you wave your hand towards me?”. “Sorry, I just did it for fun and I didn’t know that you had no work to do and you would follow me till here”, said the girl and she giggled. The next day, to our surprise, I saw the same girl in our college and we formally introduced to each other. I gradually became a good friend of her. Over a short period of time, she expressed her love to me and I readily accepted her proposal. But I had married her in a month’s time as there were some marriage proposals that were happening for her and her parents were insisting her to get married to one of those who was working as a teacher in a Government school.

After our marriage, I started commuting to college with her by my bike and we were not bothered much about anything other than studies as we were already married and had to be in jobs just after the college. One day, when I was going to college with her, we encountered a big truck was rushing towards us and it was about to hit us; and just then my friend disturbed me and got me back into senses asking what I was dreaming about. Until then I couldn’t realize that I could dream of an epic just in a fraction of seconds. I controlled my thoughts and came back to reality.

It’s wondrous!! how many times we lived long lives just in seconds of time. It’s very strange how instantaneously our brains dream of many different lives. How many times we marry beautiful girls, how many times we become celebrities like film or cricket stars and how many times we become rich business men. And the list goes on and on and on.

Friend Request

Yesterday 18-04-2017

I received a friend request from one of my college mate. The person from my graduation is a topper and don't remember if I have ever had any conversation with. I was really surprised to see the request form this person on my Facebook page though I have been receiving request from others recently. I really like all my classmate from graduation. However, I think that many don't like me as I am a bold person and talk straight forward, which might be just my assumption as most think the same way. By this request I understand that, as great people say, no one ever hates you unless you think that they do.

I really felt joyous receiving friend request from my graduation buddies and this was more joyful as it was unexpected. Also, it was inspiring to see the person doing exceptionally well in professional and personal front. I am seriously inspired by the way that person is maintaining ...
It is fantastic to see that person so fit at this age and that too in a demanding professional position. I am really motivated and decided that I am going to maintain a better health for sure from now on.

May God bless my friend.

IELTS

I am not an expert in English:

However, to know what has to be done to achieve something doesn't require an expert. I have prepared for IELTS General and took the test for 9 times And PTE once.

If one is taking the IELTS test for Australia PR then one has to get same score in all the sections of the exam, i.e They consider least scored section as overall score though IELTS authority says otherwise. For example if a person scores 7 in speaking and 6.5 in reading and 7 in listening and 8 in writing, one might get overall score as 7.5 awarded by IELTS authority, but for Australia PR purpose the score will be considered  only as 6.5 and the points will be awarded based on band 6.5 only.

There are two authorities that conduct the IELTS test. one is IDP and the second one is British Council.
However, both the tests are of same format and conducted on the same days. Only conducting authorities are different. Also, one's score will not differ whatever authorities they choose.

One can book their test by clicking below links

https://www.ieltsidpindia.com/

https://www.britishcouncil.in/exam/ielts

Some of the suggestions I would like to give for those who want to take IELTS General, not academics, are give in this blog. These suggestions are for those who score below 6 in each section.

Firstly, one has to book the exam and take the test even though they are not confident enough in securing the score they require. Only after one takes the real test, one will get to know where he stands. Sample test at your home and coaching institutes wont give the correct assessment. After the exam and the results you will want to do below if you haven't got the required band.

Steps to Improve your Band (From 4 and 5) to 6 and 7

First and most important one:

Please read the book "Essential Words for the IELTS". This is an excellent book that cost just 259 on Amazon.co.in. By reading this book one can learn the usage of most appropriate word in the correct context.

Secondly: You can purchase all the Cambridge IELTS Books from 1 to 10 and practice the tests. In fact, one will get a practice book if one schedule a test.

Below are some of the links that will help in improving our English

To get Australia PR

http://megnathreddy.blogspot.com.au/2017/04/to-get-australia-pr-in-field-of.html

The 3 men I admire

The 3 men I admire

God is kind to me. I have some special people in my life and these 3 are some of the best from that lot.

My cousin - Satheesh – My Guide – My role model

I still remember my cousin telling me, before doing something to somebody just think how will you feel if the same is done to you. He said this not after he was in 7th or 8th standard in school.  A person gifted with multi talent. He is my guide and my role model. I definitely know that he didn’t achieve enough success he deserves as he trusted others and invested time and money on them, this is just one of the reasons though there might be others as well. However, he helped many, my brother, me and his friends and I think it should have brought more satisfaction to him than just success and money. If there is some success attributed to me then a major part of it goes to his guidance and advises. I also know that he would have been better in life if he had been little selfish, but he was always worried about his family, joint family, not just his parents and sisters. He is a real sports person and could have done great if he was give enough encouragement and financial support, but he was not supported and encouraged to follow his dream. He is a great actor to, but didn’t get an opportunity to perform other than in school dramas. In fact, he has written and direct a play at his school and won the price competing with the school teachers plays.

My brother Ashok – The most caring person

He is a wonderful human being. He genuinely cares for everybody in our family. In spite being stronger than me he never hit me. I many times recollect an incident that happened between us. During our childhood day whenever I was angry I used to hit him and he used to take my punches. One day he said, “brother will you able to withstand my punch if give one”. That made me realize, just because you won doesn’t mean that you deserve it. Though my brother is a clam and caring person he is a person who doesn’t feel secured going to new places. In spite of that he travelled abroad alone and worked there year together and still continuing. He is a perfect example for dedication and hard working and overcoming of one’s fears.

My Friend Vamsi – who doesn’t hurt anybody- literally anybody.

The one guy I have never seen hurting anyone, even in the worst of situations. Sometimes we want him to hurt others because we think that the other person deserves it. I hope and wish we don’t ask him or force him to do that and let him be the way he is.

I wish I acquire at least 5 percent of his calmness and composure.

May God bless you. Thank you very much for being in my life.

MR Cool My Friend.

Some people are born cool.

An MBA graduate, MR Cool, who wanted to help his uncle in real estate business in small town disappointed his father, who is a junior college lecturer in English. Though the father was disappointed he didn’t discourage his son.

All of a sudden, the father died of heart attack at the age of 56, we think it is a heart attach. We consider him as a healthy man though he is diabetic. He maintained his health with perfect diet and regular exercise, walking. He is a no-nonsense person. After his working hour, he used to read and write a lot about English. He is a passionate person. Many times, passionate people don’t achieve greater heights due to many reasons that can’t be explained.

After father’s death, Son had to go around government offices to get the death certificate and other legal paper work done to get the pension for his mother and family. They are just a middle-class family; every penny is hard earned money. Due to these reasons, he couldn’t continue to help his uncle in the business and in the due course he lost interest in the real estate business.

After finishing all the legal paper work, by walking around the government offices and bribing the government employees to get the death certificate, he started thinking about doing some job. As he has to work and had a background in the filed of computers he joined a software company as an Intern for 5000 RS monthly salary. In fact, a friend passed information about the opening in a company where he was working and MR Cool rightly chose to go ahead with it and started working in Chennai.

After some months, the son got the father’s PF (provident fund) with which he purchased a plot, a land of 1200 square feet in Bangalore India. Then he got married to his long-time girlfriend and eventually got a different job in Bangalore and moved there where she, his wife, was already working.

Now, both are working and earning enough to think about building a house by applying for a house loan. Unfortunately, he came to know that the broker has done a forgery with the land. The land owner was out of the country and the broker simply asked a bagger to come and sign as owner of the plot in the register office. As the plot was purchased with out the previous owner presence in India it was hard to find out or match the signature. And the land purchase history was in tact. Some how this broker got the duplicate copies of the land documents from the register office and then he easily fooled MR cool and his mother. I think, some people like the ones who work in register office believe that they are going live forever on earth and that’s why they want to earn entire wealth of the world in all the wrong routes.

Many times, people are forced to do what they don’t wish for. They had to file a complaint with police and they did the same. Though the inspector wanted to help them he could not do so, solve the issue, as the constables were helping the broker more than my friend due to various reasons. One reason, they were helping broker because he is a regular customer for them and he pays them for different cases.

Once I accompanied MR Cool to police station and had a chance to listen to broker speaking. Broker said “I am ready to come to police station daily and will come up with different reason to postpone the visits. Also, I am ready to come to court. You do whatever you can I will not give a single penny to you”. Those are the sentences uttered by the broker just in front of me. I was totally shocked and wanted to just make him vanish form the universe.

After comeback from police station, I asked my friend how he felt about the broker. I asked him please tell me what do you want to do with him? Kill him? Abduct him? He said “I want to take him to physiatrist and help him lead a true and better life”. I was entirely shocked and left with not words to talk! How a person can think like that, in such a great way. He is a true human being. I am really grateful to god to have such a wonderful person as my friend in this life. That’s why I call him MR Cool My friend.

This is just an instance I have narrated about him. In fact, there are many other such instances, but this one is ultimate and that’s why I am sharing it with you all, whoever is reading it.

Some people just project them as cool, but when it comes to facing the problems they show what they are. This person is a real example for MR Cool.

How I describe him, MR Cool My Friend:

Its your life, but you wont do it

Its your life, but you wont do it.

Recently one of my friends suggested me to do something to get a job. I took his advise, but never acted on it. After a week or so I called him, the obvious question from him 'have you completing doing it'? I said 'I was not focused and didn't do anything for quite some time due to some reasons'.

He said 'when you have decided that it is your life and you still find excuses! Then it means that it is not your priority'.

His asking made me think. In spite of knowing what we have to do to achieve what we want why cant we do it? We are not in real need of it or we are not really interested in it or we assume that it will just happen since we want it to happen. In fact it will happen just because we want it to happen, but it will happen after a very long time when we don't even need it. Here, time is the factor.

If one needs to get what one wants/needs one has to work for it very hard so that the end results brings some good within time. Say for example, if you want to earn enough to buy a great bike and you earn a lot after you are 90 years of age then whats the point in buying a bike at that age. Your priorities might have probably changed by then. So time is the main factor.

In spite of wanting to do something we don't do it because we are afraid

1. we think we cant do that
2. we might want our self to fail, so that we pity our self
3. we think if other can do that we cant do that.
4. we think we have done enough and we should have got that already.
5. we think we have lot of time and it can be done little later
6. fear of failure
List goes on.

However, one thing should definitely drive us to achieve it. If one have decided that this is his life than how can he find reasons for not doing it!

For Individual Skills Assessment Applications - Online Application Form
Documents that you need to have before applying.
1. Studies : One should have his Degree or Graduation certificates and mark sheets(or transcripts) attested as true copies. Pretty straight forward :)
Note: As you applying for IT based Skills your education should be in the field of computers. If in case your studies is not in the field of computers you should submit one more from by name RPL (RecognitionofPriorLearning)
RPL: In this form you need to explain how you learnt different software and how you developed some tools and how you worked in different projects. Like, how one came to this field, the story of one's journey in to the field of IT. An RPL form need to be downloaded form the same website and need to be filled. Please be patient to read it fill it, you need not fill every thing in the form. Please fill the details for appropriate things. You can add required points if they doesn't exist there.
2. Experience: One should have his experience letters from companies attested as true copies.
However, The experience letters that our companies in India provide us when we leave company are not in an appropriate format that  Australia expects.
The experience letter should include roles and  responsibilities i.e the letter should include your job responsibilities. Say for example, if one is software developer his letter should include what software development he has taken upon during his work experience.
Hence one has to get this kind of experience letters from your company HR. Don't be scared to approach your old companies, do approach and get it done. Option 2, in case if you cannot approach, you are allowed to show affidavit where your colleague certifies your experience.
if you are able to get only affidavits then don't forget to have simple experience letters attested as true copies(normal ones not the roles & responsibilities ones) along the affidavits. In addition, have our form 16s and latest pay slips.

Example of experience letter format
Do remember to get roles & responsibilities letters or affidavits for all the companies.

Create a login in ACS and upload all the required documents and pay the money (approximately 25000rs in Indian currency) 500 Australian Dollars approximately. Don't worry the ACS login will guide very appropriately. If in case you include RPL you might end of Paying 50$ more. Charges or fees might increase as the time goes by.
While creating account you will be required to choose the appropriate skill that you have experience, software engineer or analyst programmer or software developer or anything else that you have worked all these years. For each skill there are different codes. For example, it is 261311 for analyst programmer. So please choose appropriate one.
Note: some time your roles may be a mix of software developer and analyst programmer. In that case, you can choose one among the two.

Though ACS certifies education and experience the points is different for each section.
For graduation you will get 15 points (even for PG you get same points, no additional points). one will get additional points only if they have doctorate or PhD,

After you complete your English and ACS i.e getting the required score in IELTS and letter from ACS one has to apply for EOI (Expression of interest).

Note : NO money involved

note: one can also choose state sponsorship option as they will get more points which in turn increase their chances of getting PR quickly, but one will have to live and work in the same state that has provided the sponsorship for two year(this is 190 visa).

Now we have finished EOI, lets take the scenario of state sponsorship(visa 190). Firstly, the state will send you an email saying you have been provided with an offer of state sponsorship. Then you have to click that link in your email and fill the details and attach your resume and submit your application which will cost you 300+ Australian dollars approximately. once you get your final State sponsorship, which might take up to a month, you will most probably get an invitation in your email form EOI.

Getting an invitation from EOI means that you are invited to apply for PR (190 visa) you need to upload all the documents once again and pay the visa fee and submit and launch your PR application. After this you need to get your police verification done and upload the certificate and medical check up done and wait for the PR. if you medicals goes well you will get PR most probably below 4 months in the case of India. It will depend on country of residence.

Now let us take the case of non state sponsorship (visa 189) here you will not click the option for state sponsorship as you have the required score and you are confident of getting inviation with your score. The advantage is you save some money and you can go live and work in any state of Australia as you have no obligation to stay in particular state for 2 years.

I love chocolates and ice creams

I love chocolates and ice creams.

Who doesn't love it, exceptions are there, but very less. However, I eat too many and too much of it, so decided to eat as less as I can.

For two days I didn't eat any sweets  at all. Then I eat some and able to maintain that some. However, on some occasions I am still eating more than required. Eating what we love is important, but eating to a limit that will not allow us to even taste it in future is not worth eating at all. Therefore, I should eat as less as I can and enjoy it all along.

All the best to me.. and everybody who feels the same.

After Realisation

After Realization--

After finding that I am lethargic not cool I started working. I learnt a bit today (13-april-2017), but Not very great. This is not enough to get a job I know. I hope I will do better tomorrow. I also know, in life, the biggest enemy of us is US not others. If one can win his own self he will be a happy person or a better person in life.

Hope I learn and get better equipped everyday.

One good thing, My wife might get the onsite opportunity, but not very soon. However, I got one more opportunity to prepare well and get a well paid job. I am determined this time that I will get a job before May end 2017. All the best to me.

Day before yesterday

Day before yesterday

i.e on 12th April 2017, I felt very bad, because I have not done enough in the 11 months(from 2nd may till 12th April) I spent in Australia without a job. Things I could have done
1) Prepared well for job (could have learnt R and Python. Also could have improved more on SQL and Tableau) 11 months great period of time
2) Applied for Driving License
3) Could have done some part-time job

It is a great thing to be cool but not lethargic. I hope I change and start utilizing my time properly and productively. I realized this only when my wife told that she didn't get the opportunity (onsite  assignment  with HCL in Australia) that she was expecting for sure. Just for a great period of time I was feeling how one can marry if he cant really take care of his partner. Shame on me. In the way of becoming a cool person I have become a lethargic person.

I will be a better person form now on.

my First in person interview in Australia

Today I attended an Interview after 4 years.

It was an awesome one. I really enjoyed the interview, I felt relaxed and was able to answer and explain all the questions. I might have done better which I am sure everybody feels the same way. There were 4 persons in the panel and they were very co-operative and created very friendly atmosphere. In the group of 4 people only 3 were questioning and one was just an observer. In my life this is the first time that I faced an interview where 4 people interview one. I felt, they are really wonderful people. I hope I get this job and enjoy working with them. This is the first time that I have attended an interview in person in Australia. Also, first time Australians interviewed me, that too in a group of four members. Wow what a beginning.

Again a big Gap

A big Gap again.

In the month of July 2016 my wife visited me in Australia for 4 days and went back to India, she is  continuing her job in HCL India. I had an interview in the month of June I vaguely remember. After that interview there is a big gap in interview calls. May be the local companies didn't really find my profile appealing as I was following a different format. By the time I realised it I was in the month of September. Decided to upgrade my skills and learnt some new skills and update my resume. Then again a big back. Fell unorganised for 3 months and left focus on job search in the month of Nov, Dec and Jan. Now already in next year 2017. No interview calls so worked on resume again and started getting one or two enquiry calls in the month of Feb. Only in March I got a proper interview call from SmartMorph asking me to prepare a visualisation by using the csv and requirement files sent by them.
completed the task and they were happy with it and they scheduled a skype call interview as the company is in Brisbane. The interview was scheduled on 28th March 6pm. I was eager and little tensed at the same time about the interview. On 27th evening I received an e-mail from them saying the interview got cancelled. Felt too bad, eyes were slightly wet for a while.

As I had an interview scheduled on 3rd April with other government organisation (information cant be revealed) I was able to control my disappointment.

Back to fear one.

Back to same fear one
To get an Australian PR, one has to complete IELTS exam. I joined IELTS coaching in the year 2011 but was scared to take up the exam. Got married by November 2011 and had fair bit of problems with married life and wife's ill health and unfocused professional life for some time. In 2103, I developed the courage to write the IELTS and got a score of 6 with no effort, if you are reading my blog you can understand what is my standard. Even after 10 attempts I was unable to score 7 in writing. Other than writing I was able to get 7 in other 3 sections and 7.5 in reading and 8 in listening. However, I got Australia PR in the year 2015, state sponsorship. May be this is the reason why people say that one will achieve anything if one has determination.
Forgot to update, in the mean time I moved to different technology, Business Intelligence and visual analytics. On 2nd May 2016 I moved to Sydney Australia. After moving to Australia, I took one month rest at my cousins places without applying for any job. After a month I started applying for jobs and got a call very soon from TechMahindra (Satyam got merged with Techmahindra). However, I didn't get a job as they were expecting more variety of experience.

Migrating to other countries

FIFA South Africa, my first onsite
Moved to South Africa Feb 2009, Initially I felt very scared as many told that it is not a safe country. Also, I felt very boring for initial 6 months. After six month I visited India and went back to South Africa to continue in the project. This time I really started liking the place due to many factors. Like, now I know the place better, I realised many places are safe, I have more friends to catch up and spend time. I really had a wonderful time in South Africa from 2009 to 2010.

To update about my Australia plans, I should first tell something about my cousin, he joined HCL in 2007 and moved to Australia on a work VISA. In the year 2010 we used to talk a lot about living in foreign countries, mainly Australia. Then I started to feel like most immigrants, why shouldn't I move to Australia and settle there. I am not a scientist, I am just a normal employee. In fact, by moving out of India I am helping some others by not occupying a seat in the local bus or train or road or job. Is that not a service that I am doing to my fellow citizens.

First of all, why should I think that I belong to only India! why can't I be the son of earth. If somebody is polluting in farther place will it not  affect the planet? Our mother earth doesn't show any discrimination. Even though many work in IT companies in India they are working for foreign company projects. Does it mean that they are not helping India grow? Now, I don't really know if migrating to other country is right or wrong!

Whatever may be the thoughts, in 2010 June I decided to migrate to Australia. By June 2010 I moved back to India after the completion of FIFA Project in South Africa and was able to Move to Australia by the month May 2016.

Scared of exams all along.

Scared of exams all along.

In spite of learning CCNA and MCP well, I was scared of taking up the certification. Again same issue, was unable to find a job that requires these skills. Luckly there was a job opening for fresher in my cousins work place. It was for VBA (visual basic application) developer. My cousin asked me if I am willing to work in programming? I said yes, and joined the company. In that company I worked as VBA programmer for 2 months, learnt VBA  first month and completed a small project in the 2nd month successfully. Later I got an opportunity to work in the same company as system administrator and grabbed the opportunity. The position that became vacant was offered to my friend Vamsi.

After working there for some time I developed the skill and decided to complete the certification and completed MCP certification. After completing the certification I applied for jobs and got a job in Satyam computer services limited as system admin. I really felt happy that I got into an MNC. Now I am a software professional, some might think system administration is not a software job. After working for an year in a project, we, my team lead and me, were about to move to USA, my lead on long term basis and me on a short time, the project got closed. However, our manager provided and opportunity for me and my college to work for FIFA in South Africa.

My first flight that too International one - Awesome.

Moved to Australia May 2nd 2016.

Moved to Australia May 2nd 2016.

I always wanted to live and die in India, as I felt people who leave the country are not doing enough to improve their mother country where they are born and learnt or acquired the skills. However, like many average educated citizens of the country I completed graduation in computers (studying almost outdated programming languages) and an MBA form a very new college(I don't know what subject I learnt here, but felt like a better person after MBA).

After completing MBA I moved to Bangalore in search of a job. I looked for different jobs in the field of marketing, but was unable to find a decent job(a decent marketing job in my view is, where we need not bluff customers to the core). However, I was unable to find any except for the credit card marketing, in my view, begging software employees to apply for credit card. Back then, in the year 2004, it was difficult to find a job opening even though there might be some opportunities. Internet access was too slow, too costly, for a lower middle class job seeker. A normal mobile phone was a greatest thing then.

By chance I got a job as a software recruiter in a small consultancy, but I quit it as my lead didn't treat me well when I made a call to one of the prospective employee for the second time by mistake. In fact, I deserve that, as it was my mistake to call the same person again as I didn't maintain the call record well. Because of ego I left the job without intimating them. Back then I had EGO in abundance.

Now decided to find a job in the field of information technology. I followed my cousin's advise and I learnt hardware. Just after finishing the course I was not getting any money from home to survive in Bangalore. Therefore, decided to move to Chennai to my cousins room as he was working in software testing and was earning enough to stay in sharing room and spending for food. There I joined networking, CCNA. I really learnt a lot in this course and I still remember the concepts. Then again I joined MCP (windows server) course. My cousin paid fee for both the courses, my food and accommodation.
