First of all, there are different professions (which is called as Skilled List) in which one can get Australia PR. However, I am going to let you know how to get PR when one is working in IT and belong to ICT skill set, say for example, as a software engineer(261313), or Analyst programmer(261311), etc.

To know different job titles in ICT try searching on internet and find the different job codes for different domains of work.

One should have a minimum 65 points to expect a PR in First place.

Note: As you applying for IT based Skills your education should be in the field of computers. If in case your studies is not in the field of computers you should submit one more from by name RPL (RecognitionofPriorLearning)
RPL: In this form you need to explain how you learnt different software and how you developed some tools and how you worked in different projects. Like, how one came to this field, the story of one's journey in to the field of IT. An RPL form need to be downloaded form the same website and need to be filled. Please be patient to read it fill it, you need not fill every thing in the form. Please fill the details for appropriate things. You can add required points if they doesn't exist there.
2. Experience: One should have his experience letters from companies attested as true copies.
However, The experience letters that our companies in India provide us when we leave company are not in an appropriate format that  Australia expects.
The experience letter should include roles and  responsibilities i.e the letter should include your job responsibilities. Say for example, if one is software developer his letter should include what software development he has taken upon during his work experience.
Hence one has to get this kind of experience letters from your company HR. Don't be scared to approach your old companies, do approach and get it done. Option 2, in case if you cannot approach, you are allowed to show affidavit where your colleague certifies your experience.
if you are able to get only affidavits then don't forget to have simple experience letters attested as true copies(normal ones not the roles & responsibilities ones) along the affidavits. In addition, have our form 16s and latest pay slips.

Example of experience letter format
Do remember to get roles & responsibilities letters or affidavits for all the companies.

Create a login in ACS and upload all the required documents and pay the money (approximately 25000rs in Indian currency) 500 Australian Dollars approximately. Don't worry the ACS login will guide very appropriately. If in case you include RPL you might end of Paying 50$ more. Charges or fees might increase as the time goes by.
While creating account you will be required to choose the appropriate skill that you have experience, software engineer or analyst programmer or software developer or anything else that you have worked all these years. For each skill there are different codes. For example, it is 261311 for analyst programmer. So please choose appropriate one.
Note: some time your roles may be a mix of software developer and analyst programmer. In that case, you can choose one among the two.

Though ACS certifies education and experience the points is different for each section.
For graduation you will get 15 points (even for PG you get same points, no additional points). one will get additional points only if they have doctorate or PhD,

After you complete your English and ACS i.e getting the required score in IELTS and letter from ACS one has to apply for EOI (Expression of interest).

Note : NO money involved

note: one can also choose state sponsorship option as they will get more points which in turn increase their chances of getting PR quickly, but one will have to live and work in the same state that has provided the sponsorship for two year(this is 190 visa).

Now we have finished EOI, lets take the scenario of state sponsorship(visa 190). Firstly, the state will send you an email saying you have been provided with an offer of state sponsorship. Then you have to click that link in your email and fill the details and attach your resume and submit your application which will cost you 300+ Australian dollars approximately. once you get your final State sponsorship, which might take up to a month, you will most probably get an invitation in your email form EOI.

Getting an invitation from EOI means that you are invited to apply for PR (190 visa) you need to upload all the documents once again and pay the visa fee and submit and launch your PR application. After this you need to get your police verification done and upload the certificate and medical check up done and wait for the PR. if you medicals goes well you will get PR most probably below 4 months in the case of India. It will depend on country of residence.

Now let us take the case of non state sponsorship (visa 189) here you will not click the option for state sponsorship as you have the required score and you are confident of getting inviation with your score. The advantage is you save some money and you can go live and work in any state of Australia as you have no obligation to stay in particular state for 2 years.
